About

INKBRUSHMOOD is an online zine committed to artful scholarship. It is a place to explore the intersection between Zen, fūryū, and creativity – and all themes in between. The name was derived from the lines of a poem by Ikkyū Sojun:

In a dark world, today there is no mood for the ink and brush;
Nor the mind of fūryū, how futile!
(translated by Qiu, 2001)

At INKBRUSHMOOD, we feel this. This site was borne out of an effort to nurture the fūryū mind through wit, contemplation and a fresh dose of inspiration.
